I went to Patient First 1605 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Receptionist by the name of Anne (older white lady with short grey hair) extremely rude and very nasty to me and my 17 year old son. We were not rude to her at all. We were friendly and...

I would like an apology from Anne and the company. This was something that my son went through unnecessarily at the age of 17. Her rudeness affected him in ways I can never explain. Every employee in your company should have Diversity Training.

Horrible experience

Had a pelvic exam and asked if I was sexually active? Answered no I am a virgin. The spectrum that was used in me was very large and shouldn't have been used on a patient that has never experienced sex. I was told just breathe and relax the doctor tapes the inside of my leg because I was closing them because of the pain and pressure. Cried while both doctor and nurse walked out without a word. Yes, my parent was in the room however he had her stand over to the side she couldn't see what was going on, and she grabbed my hand when she noticed me in need.

They often take 4 to 8 or more hours to see you. Then tell you they don't take Medicaid after you have been seen. Also I was charged for services not received.

You’re too weird. I can’t even.

#2014225

Ok, so let me understand this.... you wanted your parent down there by the doctor so she could watch the exam? Freaky.

Horrible service, lies about charges

Went to a Patient First in the Richmond,VA area. The "physician" barely looked at me, I told him what I thought I had and he just went with it. I waited in the room longer than the time he took to attend to me. Needless to say I ended up in the ER two days later and in the midst of the COVID pandemic, they took the time and care to analyze me and address my issue (horrific sinus infection). However, what bothers me more is that whenever I have used Patient First they have you sign a form about payment and TELL YOU OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS that they will text you before charging your card and NEVER DO!!!!! They didn't do it this time and haven't done it before. I will NEVER use the Short Pump, Parham Rd or any Patient First in Virginia or anywhere else.

User's recommendation: Do not waste your time or money.

Do Not Go there

They will ask for your debit card, tell you the company will never charge more than $25.00 and then charge the whole service at once without telling you how much your bill is in advance.

AVOID at all costs

I went to the Patient First facility at 6311 Richmond Highway in Alexandria, VA on Sunday, January 19, 2020 with a cat bite on my left LEG. My daughter called the facility and asked about the wait time and was told that the wait should not be long. We arrived within 15 minutes and waited more than 90 minutes to be seen by a doctor. At least a dozen people who arrived after we did were seen before we were. My Visit Summary Sheet reflects incorrect information such as identifying the bite on my left FOREARM, not my leg. Also, the "Medicines Taking" section only included one of my regular medications even though I provided a complete list. The doctor seemed overwhelmed and rushed. I have absolute no confidence in the care I received at Patient First. the carelessness with my medical information is completely unacceptable.

Don’t even waste your time

It’s very sad. Either the docs are overwhelmed, overworked or incompetent, but the bedside manners is terrible. I went to the Patient First off Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem around 7:45pm and the waiting area was empty so I was very happy to be called in right away. I saw the doc immediately. That was close to 8pm. After he finished examining me, he said that he was going to have the staff do an ekg and blood work. Totally irrelevant and not aligned to what I went there for. Anyway I said okay go ahead but before he left the room I asked him while I’m waiting for the ekg and blood if he could electronically sent the prescription over to the pharmacy since the pharmacy close at 9:30. He didn’t answer me and stepped out the examination room. So the nurse and tech came in and did what they were supposed to do and left. After waiting in the examination room for a while thinking the doc would come back I’m watching the clock ticking away approaching 9:30pm. So I went to the nurse and told her that the pharmacy will perhaps close by the time he get through to me if he could just send the prescription over. She said he’s busy and will get to me. First of all neither the doc or the nurse ever asked me what Medication I was taking. Wouldn’t a prudent medical professional would want to know that first thing? Never asked. Cut a long story short I eventually left and went to the ER. When I was leaving I saw the nurse ran after the doc asking him if he could just order the medication and I saw he shrugged her off. He didn’t even care when she told him I’m going to leave for the ER. I guess all they want is to do all these tests and document that they thoroughly examine you to rack up the bill in order to bill the insurance. They don’t care about people. All They care about is the money. A similar incident happened to my son where he had to leave from there to the ER. How can lightning strike twice? That means it’s happening to more people than usual

Avoid them unless you are looking to feel worse

When I went there I ran into an unhappy / furious patient who said you may want go somewhere else - the Doctor is rude and you will not be happy . I thanked him and figured there is probably 2 or 3 Doctors there anyway . I was seen by a 65 -70 year old Doctor , who was the Doctor the kind man warned me about .Right away , in the first 30 seconds of talking to him presents himself as a DARPA Colonel and questions my military service. It pertained to what I was being seen for except he lied - he is not and was not a DARPA employee or so far as I can see a Colonel . In reviewing his past after I got home - with public information - DR Lafon has obsession with military and did not serve in Vietnam while having the opportunity . He is also seen as rude , judgemental *** by large percentage of patients who have seen him . I was never treated for anything by him as I left . If you are ever stopped by someone trying to give you some kind advice about a Walk In clinic ,you may want to listen !! Patient First does not really care about people - I would not go there or send anyone I Love there for any reason !!!!!!!!!

Misdiagnoses. I was diagnosed with a sever infection by Patient First. Someone called we over the phone days later with the diagnoses. She didn't even know the details of my diagnoses only that I was tested. I never received a lab result or any type of notice from them. Went to my professional doctor and was retested. Discovered that I was negative for those results and my symptoms was related to my diabetes. I will never go to them again!!!!!!

Watch out for surprise 75.00 fee for after 5 pm during normal hours

Visited this place recently and a few times in the past including my children and husband. This last visit I was shocked to see a surprise on the bill of $75.00 for after hours visit. I called them to inquire because I felt I was visiting during their published hours and this was a weekday. It was a little after 5 pm. Prior visits there was never an extra fee including on Saturdays. They informed me it is a “newly added fee” and they said there was a sign in the lobby. I never noticed a sign and they do not state this on their website nor on their phone voicemail hours. Patients beware! Other than that the staff is very nice and efficient.

This ends now

After beeing through my own experience and reading through every one elses the time i feel has come all i needed was a referral took 3 hrs of phone calls waiting to be examined by a specialist at the specialist office mentions my hand could fall off multiple times get hung up on multiple times or literally left on hold for 45 mins(my insurance requires one)then we meaning my newborn and fiance because i cant drive in my condition go and simply ask the front desk for a referral... my hand needs to be seen by a professional a 5 ton vehicle fell on it... i get laughed at... laughed at then i have to pay to wait 1hr and 30 mins to speak to a call it what you want im not saying doctor it would offend those who put patients first... but thats besides the point explained my situation said i needed a referral in my hand after she gave me a number to call i said no i need the referral in my hand 1 hr goes by 3 staff members on the phone all of which laughing sighing and complaining that i am demanding service of some sort that i guess is to much. ..cue how many whatcha macall it takes to screw a light bulb joke...again not doctors doctors take an oath of which i saw no regard... a simple referral... i get handed a do it yourself.... tell them no u do your job..... here 3 employees struggling to do it themselves( so remind me again how i was supposed to do it myself)get handed a peice of paper no referral number incorrectly spelled specialist name after asking me 3 times (3 differnt people and they tell me they will fax the rest to the specialist.... didnt notice the errors till i got home because idk i thought my god after 3 hours a peice of paper should be easy in some regard i was mistaken what fallowed a night of no sleep was again being lied to by customer service that they had sent it called specialist THEY DID NOT SEND!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME took over 5 hours calling every 30 mins to fix a typo and get a referral number i mean seriously...and the jokeing the smiling the lying the NOT THINKING I CAN HEAR MY SELF BEING BELITTLED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CURTAIN WAS A REAL TREAT IN AND OF ITSELF. If you cant write refarrels yourself you do not deserve to treat people or advertise you do let alone send them to the wolves with no concern of their humanity if you can not treat them. I make enough money to stand up for myself and the people in here. Contacting my lawyer on the grounds this establishment is a joke in every way not for my self but for the people you so call put first. Misleading company Lying to patients False advertising Patient doc confidence shattered because if i can hear you every one can Private practice or not we are human beings P.s i needed urgent care and had to fight like *** to be appoved to see a specialist of which i have to wait to see again i need urgent care and now have to wait to see primary care provider yeah right you are a joke and no in no way do you get to take away my rights in any way I could give a location but they are all the same after personally reading everyones unresolved reviews ty for your time and good luck.

Payment Upfront before Exam

I went to the Pump Rd location in Henrico County. I gave the rep my insurance information. It took him about fifteen minutes to register me in the computer because he said I had not been there since 2016 and they can't store several thousands of patients in their system. Then he said I had to sign a paper to authorized to leave my credit card information or leave my banking information before my exam. I told him no. So then, he said I have to deposit $125.00 to be seen. I have excellent insurance and my copay is only $25.00 per visit. He said this is a new policy.I had chest soreness, but I left and if it had got worse, I would go to the ER which is more money but at least I would get better care and service. I left and waited to see my doctor two days later. Luckily, it was just a muscle strain from lifting some boxes. Not going anymore.
