Horrible billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've used the East Norriton PA site for a few years now, and their billing is horrible. I get bills in the mail from them because they won't submit to the insurance company.

The latest, is a bill from LAST AUGUST, yea, 11 MONTHS AGO.. for $742.. The insurance company called them a week ago and were routed to several different people, not a ONE of them could or would provide my patient record so they can get this visit paid for. I went there in person and the woman didn't look me in the eye, instead clacked away at the keyboard and then tosses the paperwork at me.

Keep in mind, I'm asking why this is a repeat issue and at no point did this woman acknowledge me nor respond.. And no, I wasn't swearing or being rude... I'm a customer, with questions... anyway..

.finding a NEW doctor because I won't give them my business anymore.. The docs are fine..

do good work.. but the billing, just HORRIBLE.

Charge Deception

Original review updated May 16, 2025

A representative was very nice which was great! The not so great situation: The representative of Patient First took my daughter's Medicaid insurance card and ran it, then we got a bill about a couple of months later...and they claimed that Medicaid was not able to cover some of the services, so my daughter would have to pay a certain amount.

Medicaid has always paid Patient First bills and our other doctors' bills, so I don't believe them. I believe that Patient First 'nickeled and dimed' my daughter and used Medicaid as the 'fall guy.' Patient First are crooks! They should be ashamed of themselves for cheating those with low income who need Medicaid. Some people discriminate against those who need Medicaid because they think that people who need Medicaid are lazy.

Not everyone who needs Medicaid is lazy.

My daughter has a job, she may not be paid a lot but she is working. We will not be going to Patient First anymore!

it is common sense for you to come to a doctors office with your insurance card. They can't do much for you without

Billing Incorrect

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Husband and I went to the Collegeville, PA, location with what was diagnosed as a virus in October 2024. It is now April 2025 but they still can't get the billing code correct on either bill.

Our Medicare keeps rejecting it due to the incorrect location code. We have spoken with them three different times.

They keep sending us bills for $598 EACH. That is covered by our insurance.

Hello I love the care you get at Patient First but, their billing department sucks. I paid my bill by a credit card $80 for two visits my copay.

They in return went into my debit card the next day and took an additional $80. I am livid they never gave me my money back I have the bank involved and my Credit Card Company.

Customer Service at patient first steals yiur money. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM.

REFUSED TREATMENT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My son had hurt his finger at work. We took him to Patient First in Sicklerville, Nj.

He was refused medical attention because he did not have the workman comp info.

We offered to pay cash so he could get medical treatment and they refused him care. The ladies, especially the nurse was very rude and unprofessional.

Care is aweful

I went in for a cold I had for 3 weeks. Explained to the doctor that none of the OTC meds were working.

They take a covid and flu test. Comes back in and informs me I just have a cold. (I already knew that) and to take OTC meds. I guess he missed the part I said the OTC meds weren't working.

He rushed out and didn't come back until started complaining to the nurse.

And then offered me an antibiotic. The care is horrible I feel like I wasted my time and money, and I'm still sick

Consumer complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I visited the Patient First in Colonial Heights VA on 19 July. The doctor prescribed me some medications.

I took the prescription to the pharmacy to have it filled. The pharmacy said he is getting a message that it is to soon to fill the prescription, I contacted the Colonial Height office and explained to them what pharmacy said. Patient first said that system was down and that may have caused the message and tocheck back with them tomorrow.Today is the 20th of July, and the prescription has not been filled. I drove to the office, and asked about the status of the medicine no one could give me answer about when will I be able to pick up the medicine.

The nurse that was in charge insisted that she was trying to help me by telling there is nothing that she can do, I just have wait because they are trying to back out the prescription in the system. But they don't know when it will take place. They said they will call me to let know when it's ready. It is currently 2:00pm 20 July and still have not heard from PF about when the prescription will back out and sent to the pharmacy.

Long story short, I still haven't received the medicine to help relieve my symptoms. And no one from Patient First in Colonial Heights VA are doing anything to assist me.

Denied an 82 years old foreigner on vacation Medical attention

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

An 82-year-old patient was denied medical attention because she was a foreigner on vacation without insurance. The bill would have been paid.

The price was not the issue, only the medical attention mattered. Then, they tried to patronize her. She could see a nurse if she showed her ID.

Go to *** and stay there! I will never go to another one again!

Report an issue with the Sicklerville, NJ location

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was diagnosed with bronchitis and pneumonia. They prescribed two medications to my pharmacy but didn't include cough medicine.

They instructed me to return in two days for a repeat X-ray. I returned two days later and waited almost 45 minutes before I inquired about the X-ray. I was told, 'Oh, you don't really need to get one; that's just protocol. But you need to come back in three weeks.' It won't happen there!

I asked if the doctor could give me something for my cough. They suggested I go to the drug store for recommendations.

I will NEVER visit Patient First again and I will discourage all my friends from going there! A total waste of my time!

Dr use a code Blue Cross Blue Shield would not pay for and would not change it

My wife went the patient first because she had a problem with her ear. They did fix it and cleaned it out, but they didnt accept it secondary insurance when they went to bill them.

They use a code that they didnt accept. The doctor would not change it so we could not have to pay the co-pay. Theyre not a very cooperative or friendly person place. We will never go back there again and never recommend them.

I hope they go out of business. Well go to some other urgent care.

Resolved: Misdiagnosis

Went to Is patient first with a painful pinky finger. The wait time was okay.

Once I was called to the back The PA looked at my finger, looked at my palm, tapped the palm to see how much swelling and then took x ray. According to PA x ray showed my finger was sprang. Applied aluminum splint follow up 7 days with PCP. Swelling continued no matter what I did pain hurt even With pain meds.

Followed up with my primary care, He actually examined my hand and found my finger was dramatically Dislocated.!! Patient

First missed that!! I end up in occupational therapy for several sessions, Finger is still swollen Pain is better. Called patient first back to let them know what happened.

Naquan referred me to Kathy Frank in Richmond, headquarters. I read other reviews and miss frank is not an empathetic person at all! And she has the standard response for each complaint whether it fits the situation or not. Karma is a terrible thing.

I will not return to patient first or recommend them under any circumstances. I will not make the mistake going there again.

I will go to the emergency room no matter what the cost. Kathy frank at Patient First offer no resolution!!
