A bill over thrity years ago

My husband went in Patient First in Glen Burnie, when he went to sign all the necessary forms. Something flag, a bill of 65.62 in 1989. Immediately the young lady told him that they would turn him away if he does not pay. Unfortunate, he had a blood pressure of 165. When I call them to ask concern this 30 year old bill they said it was there policy to turn away any patient who has an outstanding bill. Now, they did say they would make sure the patient is stable before doing. My question to them is what, your name of your building is PATIENT FIRST. Nevertheless, the next following day, we request a copy of this 1989 bill. I spoke with the billing department they are rude. Furthermore, I spoke with Melissa Barkley, who I had delight with. When I was done, not only did I ask for the copy of this bill for 1989 but also guarantor form in which everyone sign which explain your right and obligation. Oh course, they said they might not be able to find this form. I told this lady you cannot find this form then you will have to refund my money. Because according to this form, you have to go through the process of collection. Unfortunate this bill never made it to the collection. So my question to them did you break your own contract. Heads up everyone this is a private firm and they do not care about anything but MONEY.

First time at clinic. People were nice enough.

However policy on keeping your credit card on file in case there is a balance is wrong. I have to be seen today or I would leave.

Will never darken these doors again. My personal information is mine.

Patients beware

Do not give these people a credit card for payment. They will keep your information on file. Which is a major red flag safegaurd violation. There billing department people are very rude and unprofessional.

Newtown Rd Virgina Beach Va Patient First where Amy the receptionist work is horrible customer service horrible. Her attitude when handling an client is the worst if it wasn't for the treatment that I have received in the past I would never go there because of her.

Billing one year later

Received a bill for almost $400 do not even know what this is for will try to resolve with a consumer advocate since they will not assist with our insurance and their own inept billing department. One year after husband went in for a upper respiratory infection. Donot use this ompany they must be taken out of business.

Uninsured

Patient first has a policy of self pay for uninsured. I have dealt with patient first for many years and they have done payment plans. Because I have a temporary lapse in coverage all of a sudden they don't do payment plans. I have a job and I have never stiffed them before. They refuse to see me because I didn't have the money right then and sent me down the road to somewhere else making me feel belittled like I was wasting their time.

Payment

They swiped my card for $0. I asked why swipe my card for $0. They said whatever insurance doesn’t cover we will charge to this card. I was fine with that. They had a different address and sent letters now by a collection agency I didn’t know about when all they had to do was charge my card. Now I owe way more than original amount. When I called they said I didn’t approve that. The time before that I went they did same thing but my card was charged. This time it didn’t happen. I called offering to pay original payment. Person on other line was ignorant and rude and said you can pay whatever you want but this is what you owe... I was pissed... will NEVER use patient first again.. I now understand why they suck

I don't understand what your address has to do with your card. You didn't tell us what kind of card it is.

Credit ? Debit ? Welfare ? Insurance ?

What ? You gave them a blank check to add whatever charges they conjured up by failing to maintain control of your own mathematics ; "here's my card, add whatever you think" ... you had better learn to monitor these things more closely.

I don't understand the collection agency aspect either. Something is missing from this story and leaves a lot of dangling participles.

Privacy violated

Visited Patient first for prescription refills, knew the doctor from a previous relationship and she refused to treat me. Then after I left she shared information of my visit with someone violating my privacy. I guess she wants the whole world to know about my disability.

Employees First at Patient First

First and foremost the best of this place hospitality seem to be targeting certain types of people. If you know what I mean. I was very disappointed in lack of customer service that is displayed here. When entering the office no one is there to great you and give you direction on what the procedures are for even signing in. I assumed that I just sign in to the screen in the lobby. After signing in I sat for an hour in the lobby before anyone said anything to me. The only reason someone said something to me is because I took it upon myself to ask why was there people arriving after me and being seen before me. After receiving payment for the visit, or in my case, confirming payment for the visit, I was not informed of my next steps. After waiting longer, I don’t know if this was a nurse, assistant, janitor, as of right now I still have no clue, escorted me to the back. Whoever this woman with curly hair and glasses seem to be being rude to me (Tone + Temperament) I guess because I had questions. It felt like I could not ask questions nor did it feel like a care facility. Afterwards during the visit I was offered water that was visibly unclean, with floating debri. I kindly asked for another cup and was denied. The cup was not observed and I was told sharply, “I don’t see anything” and realistically, she didn’t see anything because she didn’t bother to look. I didn’t say anything after that in fear that she was going out her way to be rude, and it would escalate. So I started writing this. After one of the nurses witnesses me writing this review, is when two ladies walked up to me to ask if I would like to get my own water. Yes please!. Afterwards I witness another gentleman walk in of another race (dominate to them) and receive the proper care that a patient should. So I would not deny that there are excellent reviews from certain people on this review board, however my people still feel like we are not getting the equality and that we deserve. I leave with this question. Is Patient First not for EVERYONE! #CertainPatientsFirst PS. Coughing nurses, no masks, and nurses not observed washing hands is the norm here. Pay attention while paying them your money

Bad experience today at patient first

Today I went to patient first with expectation of going to an urgent care .They are more like a hospital than a urgent care. They made me wait there for 3 HOURS to see a doctor. They had only one doctor on duty and all the rooms were full of patients . I felt like they are trying to put you in the room to keep you there and don't care how long you wait for them. I Now I m afraid of receiving a bill like a hospital . I call and ask them before I went about their charges , I told them that I have this health insurance, approximately how much will be the charges ? They refused to tell me. I will never go to this place again and I will not recommend anyone to go there. they are expensive and their are not worth it .

I was there today waited and was treated so rushed pulled oblique muscles did t even offer me pain meds except a shot that would last for 6 hrs dr was a waste it was as pathetic will probably charge me hundreds for a waste of my time

They cannot tell you with any precision how much it will cost because they haven't examined you yet and have no idea what the diagnosis will be nor what tests or medicine you will need. You expect too much.

Hour and a Half Wait

I am at Patient First only for a sports physical and I have been here for an hour and a half already! Very annoying. People came after me and left before me. I asked when I was going to be helped and they said there is still one person ahead of me !! Doctor just came in and started my physical and then just left the room and said she’d be back because of another patient ! I paid $50 for a sports physical for all of this ! Should’ve taken the 5 day wait at my doctors office.

Sent invoice to the wrong address

Patient First never asked me my address at the time of service. They sent my invoice to the address on file from my visit NINE YEARS AGO at a different center. After three attempts, they sent the invoice to a collection agency. They have my phone number and email address, but never attempted to contact me any way other than by the US Mail. All they said when I complained was "sorry you feel that way"!! They don't care about people. They don't care about addressing complaints. They got their money. The collection agency got theirs. Patient First won't admit fault. They're just a faceless, careless bureaucracy in the out-of-control healthcare system. It doesn't matter to them that I will go ANY other healthcare facility other than Patient First. I'm an insignificant irritant to them, and so will you be too! DON'T GO!!

Balance billing

We have tricare and where seen after 3 months we got a bill contact tricare and was informed they already receive payment full . After calling agin they said it was under review. Do not go it’s a ripoff , if you get labs they will not call you , staff is not nice too.

Really bad experience with billing

On June 2017 they treated my daughter I have given them my medicaid insurance and they said your good to go. Since that time every month they send me bill to pay, when I call my insurance they saya we did not receive any thing from them then I am providing Patient First phone number to my insurance when they calling the Patient First billing department to sort out the issue when we all get together in phone call the Patient First says ok is it our mistake disregard the bill we file it again correctly. This happened to me more then 10 time I am really tired making lot of calls and they keep sending me bill over and over. I am planing to file official compliance against them. They are really cheater I will not recommend anyone to go there for treatment.

DONT USE PATIENT FIRST

Went to Patient First on 18 JAN 2018 only due to Tricare not having any available appointments. Had symptoms of Bronchitis (I'm a retired Medic). Coughing up green, coming out the nose green. Chest was very tight. These quacks give me an inhaler (which I already had) and Sudafed. Did NOT offer a breathing treatment or anything else. So I get sicker and end up at the hospital at Andrews. Who by the way gave me an Antibiotic because I had Bronchitis. I was then charged this weekend in July 2018 $20.00. I paid before I left. Was told that was what Tricare didn't pay. I paid my co-pay which is what was supposed to be charged. I am calling Tricare. Told the lady today how can they just charge my card 6 months after the fact. This dummy says oh it takes that amount of time. First of all I am not impressed with the doctor I saw. Training is needed. Would never ever return and Tricare don't need to send their patients to this unfit place.
